Shri Sundaram - Freedom Fighter, Poet, and Founder of Ompuri
Ompuri is a spiritually inspired township envisioned as a place dedicated to the Divine — where we aspire, live, and act solely for the Divine. On the heartfelt prayer of devotees from Gujarat, The Mother Herself named the township "Ompuri" (ૐपुरि) in her own handwriting on 1st December 1967.
Following this sacred beginning, land was officially acquired from the Government on payment, and the development of Ompuri began at the river bank of Vatrak, Matar, District Kheda.
Ompuri is connected with the Sri Aurobindo Society, Pondicherry, and continues to spread the message of Integral Yoga through camps, meditation, and collective living.
